The Artist

You should choose your tattoo artist like you would choose your dentist or doctor. You want to know they are experienced with back tattoos before allowing him to permanently put one on your back. If they can’t provide you with a custom piece of artwork, then they aren’t the person you want to put back tattoos on your body. Custom pieces are simply an original tattoo creation make just for you.

You wouldn’t trust your best friend to do a root canal or perform surgery on you right? You don’t want to allow them to place permanent ink on your body either. You want to be in the most clean of environments with sterile equipment and qualified professionals to have that kind of thing done and back tattoos shouldn’t be any different. They need to have the proper equipment and facility to be able to say they are qualified tattoo artists.

Look through their portfolio to see how you like their work before deciding who will put the tattoo on your back. If they don’t have a portfolio, don’t even consider them for back tattoos. Ask any questions you may have even if they seem silly to you at the time to make sure you have no doubts about the entire process. Good tattoo artists will be able to answer any questions you may have and will be happy to do it. If they aren’t wanting to answer your questions, and you are asking politely, then move onto the next tattoo artist. If you are acting like an ass while asking your questions and during the time you spend there, don’t expect them to be too friendly when you have questions, so remember to be polite and respectful of their time.
